All - I guess i'm a slow learner or just very patient. I have an old Arthur Fulmer open face helmet that i've had for years, fits perfectly, fiberglas/strong and is still good inside even though the outside is getting long of tooth. The thing about it that forced me to go to the new full face type was the faceshield. The shields on my full face helmets are quiet inside the helmet. Arthur, however sets up a buzz that forces the use of earplugs and even that is not enough sometimes. Full face helmets are hot in Kansas. My open face is so much better in hot Kansas weather. Yesterday, a light flashed. Why not unsnap the shield and put a simple rubber water hose washer between the helmet and the snap. It's invisible under the snap. Dirt cheap and -- It worked! Wala -- no more rattle and i've put up with this ear deafening noise for longer than some of you would believe. Just goes to show old dogs do learn some new tricks even though it takes years to learn them.
